General Practitioner, Zoe Hudson from My Menopause Doctor's Newson Health Team, will guide you through the menopause with specific focus on Hormone Replace Therapy (HRT). Zoe graduated from the University of Birmingham Medical School in 1996 and spent time working in Australia before returning to the UK and settling in Manchester to train as a GP (MRCGP 2000).
During her time as a GP Partner she has run a Family Planning service at the surgery, including coil and contraceptive implant fitting (Diploma FRSH 2008) as she has always had an interest in Women’s Health and Wellbeing as well as being a GP Trainer.
Training is an area she has been involved with for over 20 years at a practice level and she is now expanding on this by leading menopause educational sessions for primary care healthcare professionals. She also gives presentations about the menopause both in the community and at places of work and now online.
Naturopathic Nutritionist, Sofie Cole, from Sofies Fresh Food, talks us through the interactions of food on the different bodily systems especially during menopause when the metabolism may be slowing down and weight gain and fatigue are a common issue for many women during this time.
Sofie is a fully qualified Naturopathic Nutritionist and a member of the British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT) as well as The Association of Naturopathic Practitioners (ANP). She originally trained as a dietician in Belgium and then in 2015 retrained at The College of Naturopathic Medicine (CNM) in London as a Naturopathic Nutritionist to enhance her knowledge and understanding about the interaction of the different bodily systems and the impact of all foods with its nutrients on these systems.
The Nutrition course at CNM gave me confirmation again how powerful Nutrients are in Fresh Food! All the nutrients like Vitamins, Minerals, Anti-oxidants, Fibre, Amino Acids, Essential Fatty Acids and Carbs have one or several functions. When eating a balanced diet, these nutrients will work in symbiosis, to make you feel good. It is fascinating science that will keep us excited forever.
Homeopath, Amanda Bate discusses the use of alternative methods in trying to control some of the symptoms during pre-menopause and the menopause. Amanda qualified in 2014 and is fully registered with the society of homeopaths.
She began studying Homeopathy after it helped her when she had Post Natal Depression and helped one of her children with terrible eczema and the other with a bad reaction to a vaccination.
During Amanda's 23 years of being a Homeopath she has been a lecturer at the College of Homeopathy, a Regional Tutor, an assessor for the Society of Homeopaths and a supervisor for students and practitioners for both case supervision and professional development.
